Well I clicked through to the home page of my blog… and there’s a couple of EXTRA things there that I need to work on right NOW!
First up… there’s an ABOUT page with nothing about me on it… so I better fix that! From the ADMIN section, click on MANAGE and then PAGES… you’ll see the about page in the list, so click EDIT and then type what you want.
One other thing I change on this ABOUT page… I don’t want any comments to appear here, so click the + next to DISCUSSION (on RHS) and UNCHECK the ALLOW COMMENTS and ALLOW PINGS options there.
Now SAVE it.
Next… the BLOGROLL.
That’s the list of names that appear on the right hand side of your home page…
These are actually OFF-SITE LINKS to other sites that you recommend. Obviously, you need to change these too, so back in the ADMIN section… click on BLOGROLL to see the list of links there.
To kill all of them – click the checkbox next to the word ACTION on the top RHS of the list, and then click the DELETE CHECKED LINKS button…
Once that’s done… click the ADD LINKS tab and add a few of your own links…
I don’t like the term BLOGROLL, so I’ve used the CATEGORY option here to add a new category called LINKS (just uncheck BLOGROLL in the list) and then these will be listed on your home page under the heading LINKS 
I ALSO change the TARGET option – on RHS – to _blank so my outgoing links open in a new window.
As well, change the LINK RELATIONSHIP (XFN) section to show that it’s one of MY sites I’m linking to.
So add a few more links… and take another look!
NOW it’s starting to feel like YOUR place!!!
But that default WordPress theme is starting to bug me and needs to be changed. But before I do, I better have a look at what it does and how it works… And that’s all for another post.икони
